Plastic TableTop Chains (Flat Top Chains)
TableTop Chains are available in two styles: straight running or sideflexing. There are also multiple variations of TableTop chains designed for very specific, special applications.
Flat top chains, also called tabletop or slat top chains, are plastic conveyor chains with a flat top plate that carries bottles, cans and packs on a flat top chain conveyor. They come in two styles: straight running chains for straight conveyors and sideflex chains that follow curves. Our standard chains are POM with stainless steel pins.

TableTop chains FAQs
- What are plastic conveyor chains called?
- Plastic tabletop chains are also called flat top chains or slat top chains. Chains that turn corners are called sideflex (side-flexing) chains; flexible chains such as our 63, 83, 103 and 146 series can also run 360° circular paths.
- Are plastic tabletop chains strong?
- Our POM chains carry a working load of 1230 N to 3830 N at 25 °C, with a maximum conveyor length of 9 to 15 m, depending on the series. The HF1873 snap on chain with a carbon steel base link takes 4000 N.
- What is the difference between straight running and sideflex tabletop chains?
- Straight running chains (805, 810, 820, 821, 821PRR) run on straight conveyors. Sideflex chains (880TAB, 882TAB, 882PRR-TAB, LBP882-TAB, 82.6-R150) can bend sideways to follow curves; on a curve they run in a corner track.
- What temperature and speed can plastic tabletop chains handle?
- Our POM chains work from -40 °C to +90 °C. Speed is up to 80 m/min lubricated and 50 m/min dry; for the roller chains (821PRR, 882PRR-TAB, LBP882-TAB) ask us for the speed rating.
- Which chain carries cartons on an incline?
- Chains with a natural rubber insert (HF821, HF880TAB, HF882TAB) are made for cartons and plastic cases on slopes. HF1873 snap on chains with rubber insert carry heavy loads around curves.
- Do you make anti-static tabletop chains?
- Yes. The 820 anti-static single hinge chain is made of anti-static POM with a resistivity of 10⁵ to 10⁷ Ω.
- Which sprocket fits my chain?
- Sprockets are named after the chain series: an 880 sprocket runs an 880TAB chain, an 821 sprocket runs an 821 chain. Each chain page lists its matching sprockets and idlers.
